Bangladesh's economy is one of the fastest-growing in South Asia, fueled by rapid industrialization, rising consumption, and strong remittance flows. The ready-made garment industry serves as the backbone of exports, making the country one of the world's largest apparel producers. Agriculture still employs a significant portion of the population, while banking, telecommunications, and transportation services continue expanding. Despite climate vulnerability and infrastructure gaps, Bangladesh has made substantial progress in poverty reduction and financial inclusion, with emerging sectors such as pharmaceuticals, leather goods, and IT services contributing to diversification.
