Information Technology Infrastructure Library (Itil) Service Management

The Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is a collection of best practices for managing IT services and improving IT support and service levels. It aims to ensure that IT services align with business objectives, even as they change. ITIL stands for Information Technology Infrastructure Library.

ITIL provides a framework and best practices for building an IT Service Management (ITSM) solution. Organizations supporting an IT infrastructure can increase efficiency while reducing service management costs by following the recommended ITIL processes.

The ITIL framework is administered and updated by AXELOS. The current version is ITIL 4, which focuses on fostering digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and DevOps. The Foundation level of ITIL 4 certification is already available, with other modules planned to roll out during the second half of 2019.
